Renowned Sports Bettors. Persons Of which Gamble About Sports With regard to Your Lifestyle

An insight into the types of people who bet on sport. It’s an enlightening little read.

The Making of a Millionaire Property Tycoon by David Abrahams and Mark Angel. David is a reformed property magnate and now teaches business courses in property management at St Mary’s University. His book tells of his career successes and failures.

Restaurant Men by Johnny Lau. Every self-respecting chef is going to be interested in this book.

Sport was something that was often divided between men and women and this section on The Preppy Cookbook focuses on how sport was used as a way to bond.

Lastly, I have included books by the world’s leading researchers and researchers themselves who were responsible for some of the earliest, and the best research in sport.

The Power of Science: The Race for the Secrets of Strength, Endurance and Stamina by Jim Pfaus. Jim was behind the best research on running from 1967 onwards, such as his measure of distance running ability and an average stride. He is now Professor of Exercise Metabolism at the University of Wisconsin.

The Human Body’s Fitness Guide by Craig Thompson. This book was an invaluable resource for me when I started my research.

The Search for the Perfect Race by Helen Turley. Helen is the co-founder of Interval Training Associates, one of the leading research-based coaches of high-intensity interval training.

Sport is a very interesting and, to me, often mysterious topic. This book had me searching for answers to the questions I had.

What is sport? What is the pursuit of excellence in sport? What is the attraction for someone to become a professional athlete? How do elite athletes have their bodies adapted to their sport? How do elite athletes find the time to be excellent at their sport?

The answers to these questions I will probably never find. But I will continue to investigate them as the list shows.
